About us

AIESEC in Basel, also known as the Local Committee (LC) of Basel, represents one of eight Local Committees in AIESEC in Switzerland.

It is composed of students from both University of Basel and University of Applied Sciences in Basel (FHNW). Its currently 30 members come from very different cultural backgrounds and have various academic career orientations, which vary from economics to chemistry, psychology or sociology – just to name a few.

This pool of diverse cultures, coupled with a broad spectrum of different academic studies enriches and reinforces our personal progression, development and improvement as a Local Committee.

Our goals

We help students to explore and develop their potential and offer practical work experience by:

  • Assisting students in their personal development to acquire leadership competence by taking on tasks and responsibilities and also leadership positions in the Local Committee.
  • Giving students the possibility to go on an internship abroad in different professional fields and cultures.
  • Providing members with a global learning environment and network.

How do we reach our goals?

The LC Basel is composed of seven dynamic teams that all work for the development of our LC as a whole. Their responsibilities vary from Human Resources to Finances and Project Management. Being part of one of these teams gives our members the chance to develop their personal skills, challenge themselves and learn a lot about teamwork. Furthermore, being able to be the leader of one of these teams gives our members not only the possibility to develop their leadership skills, but also to implement their own ideas and to get their first work experiences besides university.

Since AIESEC is an the largest international student organization, our members constantly have a chance to meet other members from Switzerland and all around the world. They can exchange their experiences and are able to build up a personal international network.
